Your brain is comprised of billions of cells called neurons, which are switches that let you think and recall things. PCs and electronic gadgets contain billions of mini brain cells, too. They are called semiconductors and semiconductors produced using silicon. Let's try out a fun activity using a transistor.
COMPONENT REQUIREMENT:
1. Transistor BC547
2. LED
3. Battery with clip
4. Breadboard
PROCEDURE:
STEP - 1
Insert the transistor BC547 into the breadboard.
STEP - 2
Connect the LED shorter lead to the collector of the transistor.
STEP - 3
Interface the battery positive wire to LED longer lead (positive) and negative to transistor emitter.
STEP - 4
Connect the two wires, one wire to the Base and other wire to the LED longer lead (positive). Do not connect anything to the other ends of these wires.
STEP - 5
Touch the two wire end and watch the LED glow as your body becomes a conductor.
