oersted's experiment

In 1820, a Danish physicist, Hans Christian Oersted, found that there was a connection among power and attraction. By setting up a compass through a wire conveying an electric flow, Oersted showed that moving electrons can make magnetic field.

COMPONENT REQUIREMENT:

        1. Wood

        2. Magnet

        3. Battery and battery holder

        4. Lead wire

        5. Crocodile clip

        6. Switch

PROCEDURE:

    STEP - 1

Place the wood pillars ( pillars with nail), Battery holder and switch on the wood.

    STEP - 2

Interface the lead wire between the pillars.
    STEP - 3

Place the crocodile clip with nails on the pillar.
    STEP - 4

At the point when the current goes through the lead wire, it makes the magnetic field. So the magnet turn. Rapidly separate the wire from the battery (turn of the switch) since it isn't useful for the battery to draw a huge current.
